Grammy Pre-Nominees for “Best New Artist” and “Album of the Year”
As singers/musical directors of The Patriot Tour, the sister duo of DeLissána is deeply proud and honored to perform in the fabulous variety shows for our dedicated and brave service men and women and first responders. DeLissána performs coast to coast: in December Nights in San Diego’s stunningly beautiful Balboa Park, at Cleveland’s New Orleans Showboat, Barton Center in Lakewood, The Funny Stop Comedy Club in Akron for the U.S. Marines, Prime at Anthe’s Lounge in Akron, Becky’s Bistro in Willoughby Hills, Festa Italiana in beautiful Cuyahoga Falls, Angelo’s Nido Italia Restaurante in Cleveland’s Little Italy and as featured guest performers for other events. DeLissána also appeared at a benefit for our fallen police officers and first responders at the Improv Comedy Club in Downtown Cleveland. Performing in The Patriot Tour for our United States Marines at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina (February 2012) to benefit “Hope For the Warriors” was a humbling and dream come true. They are continually invited to perform for private functions, festivals, and sports venues to sing “The National Anthem”.
DeLissána performs music for everyone to enjoy, from classics, Top 40, easy listening to rock, country, ethnic, opera and ballads. Elissa and Diana revel in performing together: they are siblings with a uniquely beautiful blend and musical style. They sing in several languages and are classically trained musicians who don’t limit themselves to just one musical genre. Rather, they have created their own sound through years of performing together and have been told they sound as though they are one voice. Coming from a large family of professional musicians, instrumentalists, television/film actors and dancers, music educators (from elementary to high school to college PhDs), they found their niche in singing duets together from an early age.
In 2012 JanMar Productions, Inc. of West Palm Beach, Florida, signed DeLissána to record their first album. The accomplished, multi-talented Grammy winner, Pablo “Chino” Nunez is the producer and arranger. The album will be comprised of familiar songs, some of which will be sung in either Spanish or Italian, as well as original songs.
Diana (a College of Wooster grad) has played the piano accompaniment to Elissa’s many instrumental, vocal and dance solos. Their childhood living room was their very first “stage” as they amused themselves for hours performing along with recordings and television variety shows. Little did they know that through the years, and summers performing at The Cleveland Playhouse, Oberlin College Summer Opera Theatre, and Cleveland Institute of Music productions they’d develop their own unique interpretive style which morphed into DeLissána.
